Modeling the Human Memory
All right, this is a very rough idea and is going to be far from perfect (and I’m sure someone else has though of it before). The idea is to use a node type system that defines an object based on it’s relationships.
Relationships can be strengthened or weakened and will slowly degrade over time. These relationships will change and shift over time similar to the human mind. For example, a tree.
Some of the associations may be color, size, similarities, properties etc. Even the name of the object will be associated by a relationship.
With this model it could be possible to represent abstract concepts and ideas. In addition to that it would perfectly model the differences in everyone’s thought processes and decision making.
The downside would be that it would have to learn exactly like a human would slowly and one step at a time.
Once again this is just a quick half formed idea I had and most likely will not work or is impossible ( or both), but I’d figured I’d share it anyway.

Hey, I’m nick2price from DreamInCode. Interesting idea. I shall tell you what someone told me once when I tried doing somthing similar. If you crack this, expect to recieve the nobel prize the following day. So far, any attempts at recreating the human brain through a computer have not gone very far. However, this is not to say that its impossible. Its a huge area of research and one day will be cracked. Even though I am not currently working on a project like this at the moment, I am always keeping myself updated with other peoples attempts, and reading up on material to keep myself knowledgable incase I go back to it.
Its an amazing field, and if you dont crack it, you will have great fun learning it. Also, it can become extremely complicated mixing both java and mathematics. Look into neural networking, thats the name of this specific field. And my advise is to start looking into how facial recognition and detection programs work. They run through a neural network whereby they learn on each loop. All I can say is have fun and keep me updated on any progress.
